ACHI President and CEO Dr. Joe Thompson and other health experts are voicing concerns about the threat posed in Arkansas by the Delta coronavirus variant, which is more infectious and potentially more dangerous than the currently dominant strain. The variant is spreading fast at a time when COVID-19 precautions are relaxing and Arkansas’s vaccination rate is lagging behind most of the nation, THV11 reports.
“If you’re relaxing in our new normal, but you’re not protected, you’re rolling the dice and taking a big risk,” Thompson warns.
