In an interview with KATV that aired Tuesday, May 11, ACHI President and CEO Dr. Joe Thompson discussed the emergency use authorization of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for use in children ages 12‒15.

Thompson said that to make Arkansas communities safe and return to normal, vaccination numbers have to increase, and that means vaccinating children as well as adults. He acknowledged that some parents may be hesitant to get their kids vaccinated, but he said that “if they seek out accurate information and they think about it, they will want to move their child from an unprotected class to a protected class.”
