In early April, the ACHI Health Policy Board proposed that community and faith leaders organize a day of reflection and healing today (April 27) to acknowledge the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on our lives. As part of ACHI’s observance of the day, we commissioned national award-winning poet Chris James to write an original poem. In this recording, James reads his poem, ‘Pandemic.’

ACHI President and CEO Dr. Joe Thompson shared his thoughts on the value of a day reflection and healing in a recent guest column for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. Also, the latest episode of our podcast, “Wonks at Work,” includes a relevant discussion between host Craig Wilson and guest the Rev. Jay Clark, executive pastor at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church.
