Telemedicine continues to gain momentum in our state, and while the use of e-consults is limited, that is expected to change.

Electronic consultations, also known as e-consults, are a secure form of electronic communications between primary care physicians and specialists, allowing these physicians to consult with one another regarding patients’ care needs. In rural states like Arkansas where there are barriers to specialty care access, e-consults can help to facilitate patients’ care.
