The August issue of Arkansas Money & Politics magazine features an interview with ACHI President and CEO Craig Wilson about a swiftly moving trend in Arkansas’s healthcare system: the closing of labor and delivery units. Wilson discusses the causes behind many of the closings and strategies that can help maintain access to care for mothers and infants in the state.
The issue also includes interviews with other experts on the topic and a list, compiled by ACHI, of the 30 Arkansas hospitals that continue to operate labor and delivery units — down from 40 in 2019.
