Key Takeaways

The following table includes takeaways from the infographic and shows differences between Arkansas statistics and national averages for selected health indicators.

For Every 100 Arkansas Adults Age 18 to 64Comparison to National Average

Methodology Note

This analysis of Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) data uses a different methodology than our 2023 release for this age group. For this update, we used the CDC’s Web Enabled Analysis Tool (WEAT), which allows the data to be analyzed directly using two age groups: ages 18–64 and 65 and older. In prior releases, we combined several smaller age categories to calculate these figures.

WEAT applies BRFSS survey weights to produce estimates that reflect Arkansas’s adult population rather than only the individuals who completed the survey. Because of this change in methodology, the figures may not be directly comparable with those published previously.
