Health data professionals from across the country will convene in Little Rock this week for the 34th annual meeting of the National Association of Health Data Organizations (NAHDO).
ACHI will serve as the host organization for the conference, scheduled for Wednesday through Friday at the Little Rock Marriott at 3 Statehouse Plaza. Guest speakers will include Gopal Khanna, director of the federal Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, and Arkansas Insurance Commissioner Allen Kerr.
The full agenda is available online.
Also during the conference, Dr. Joe Thompson, president and CEO of ACHI, will receive NAHDO’s Elliot Stone Award of Excellence in Health Data Leadership. The presentation is scheduled for the 12:30 p.m. Thursday lunch program. The award is presented to an individual who represents the highest ideals in data collection, analysis, or outcomes measurement and whose creative efforts have made outstanding contributions to improvements in the collection, application, and/or dissemination of health data.
Conference sessions will focus on topics such as state pharmacy transparency and cost initiatives, using public datasets for value-based purchasing, and assessing social determinants of health.
Outside of the NAHDO meeting, Khanna will participate in a public discussion on the future of health services research. Organized by ACHI, the program is set for 2 p.m. Thursday in the Pauly Auditorium in the Rahn Building at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
