The Following Baby Back Home (FBBH) program, developed by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences’ (UAMS) Department of Pediatrics, seeks to improve health outcomes for high-risk infants by providing health-oriented home visiting and care management services following the infants’ discharge from the neonatal intensive care unit.
The findings in this evaluation report by researchers with ACHI and UAMS demonstrate that enrollment in FBBH prevented three in four infant deaths, improved immunization completion, and increased the completion of needed healthcare utilization.
The authors of the report are ACHI Director of Research and Evaluation Dr. Anthony Goudie, ACHI Assistant Director of Health Policy Research Dr. Kanna Lewis, and UAMS Associate Professor Dr. Lorraine McKelvey.
