48,139 Arkansan women are eligible to access BreastCare for screening and early detection of breast and cervical cancer. BreastCare treats 13% of breast cancers and 20% of cervical cancers among Arkansas women each year.
BreastCare certifies eligibility of women for treatment through confirmation of diagnosis, citizenship and income. Clients are enrolled in a special category of Medicaid for the duration of their treatment. After treatment is completed, women are re-enrolled in BreastCare for regular screening and further diagnosis.
