ACHI announced the winners of its Healthy Active Arkansas Hospital Challenge and School Challenge on Monday, June 24.
ACHI holds the Hospital Challenge and School Challenge each year as a complement to the Blue & You Fitness Challenge, a program of Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield, the Arkansas Department of Human Services, and the Arkansas Department of Health. ACHI’s challenges focus on hospital and school employees, who are well positioned to serve as role models.
Winners were chosen based on their participation levels in the Blue & You Fitness Challenge, which was held March 1–May 31.
“We need to make the healthy choice the easy choice,” ACHI President and CEO Dr. Joe Thompson said. “The Blue & You Fitness Challenge is making the healthy choice an exciting choice.”
This year’s winners are:
- Hospital Challenge
Small Group Winner: Baptist Health Rehabilitation Institute
Medium Group Winner: Baptist Health Medical Center-Stuttgart
Large Group Winner: University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences
- School Challenge
Small Group Winner: Conway Public School District Central Office
Medium Group Winner: Fabulous FHS (Fayetteville High School) Special Education Team
Large Group Winner: Searcy Public Schools
Dr. Thompson announced ACHI’s winners during remarks at the Blue & You Fitness Challenge’s wrap-up ceremony at the Statehouse Convention Center in downtown Little Rock. ACHI also participated in the competition and received a second-place award in the category for teams of 30-41 people. Congratulations to all who participated!
