ARKANSAS CENTER FOR HEALTH IMPROVEMENT LAUNCHES MATERNAL HEALTH PODCAST
LITTLE ROCK ― Maternal health in Arkansas is the focus of a new, nine-part podcast series produced by the Arkansas Center for Health Improvement.
Each episode of the “Healthy Birthing Journey Podcast” will look at one of the phases from pre-pregnancy through the postpartum period identified in ACHI’s infographic, “9 Points on a Healthy Birthing Journey.” Like the infographic, the series will explore opportunities for Arkansas to make lasting improvements in maternal and infant health. The first two episodes are available on ACHI’s website at achi.net/birthingjourney and on Spotify and Apple Podcastss.
“Arkansas’ maternal and infant mortality rates are among the highest in the nation, but multiple efforts are underway to change that,” said the podcast’s host and ACHI Executive Director Sandra McGrew. “In this series, we dig into the data and talk to leaders across Arkansas about how we are working together to move the needle in the right direction for our moms, babies, and communities.”
Guests will include a wide range of experts, from healthcare and public health leaders to lawmakers and community leaders across the state.
The podcast is supported in part by a grant from the National Institute for Health Care Management Foundation.
The “Healthy Birthing Journey Podcast” is ACHI’s second foray into podcasting. “Wonks at Work,” a wide-ranging podcast on health policy in Arkansas, launched in 2020 and is still going strong with ACHI President and CEO Craig Wilson as host. Episodes are available at achi.net/wonksatwork, Spotify, Apple Podcasts and SoundCloud.
