No one can tell how serious the flu will be for one person compared with another. Some people are more likely than others to have serious complications if they get the flu. Those most at risk for complications include infants and young children; pregnant women; older adults; those with weakened immune systems; and those with chronic health conditions like asthma, diabetes, and COPD.
