Our new infographic shows Arkansas’s significant progress on reducing the percentage of adults who are uninsured and captures continued challenges to increase uptake of coverage through the individual insurance marketplace, despite the availability of considerable financial assistance.
Key takeaways: At the county-level in Arkansas, between 2–6 percent of residents pay a penalty for not having health insurance, although many of those same counties have average premium tax credit amounts ranging from $3,923 to $5,300. Arkansas counties continue to experience low uninsured rates, and Arkansas has the lowest uninsured rate of all surrounding states.
